BKI and PT PAL Explore Collaboration to Strengthen the Indonesian Maritime Industry

PT Indonesian Classification Bureau (Persero), as the leader in the BUMN Survey Services Holding “IDSurvey,” is committed to developing the Indonesian maritime industry.

This is reflected in the visit made by the President Director, Chairman of the BKI Council, and members of the BKI council to PT PAL on Monday, 27 May 2024, in Surabaya.

The President Director of PT PAL, Kaharuddin Djenod, expressed his pride in this visit.

Welcomed by the Director of BKI

BKI President Director, Arisudono Soerono, also expressed his happiness at the welcome from PT PAL.

“I agree with what was conveyed by the President Director of PT PAL. It is time for all stakeholders in Indonesia to unite, because the opportunities in the maritime sector are very large. Our dream is to be independent and stand on our own feet in the maritime sector,” he said.

BKI updates

Arisudono also provided an overview of the latest developments at BKI. “We have become a holding company with several ongoing and ongoing projects. In the future, we are very open to collaborating with PT PAL, such as decarbonization projects and future ship development,” he added.

The Chairman of the BKI Council also expressed his appreciation for this meeting.

“I believe that by uniting, especially in the maritime sector, we will become more independent. Other countries will see that we are able to stand on our own feet. The formation of this assembly is expected to further integrate the updates taking place at BKI. BKI has also been appointed as a lead integrator in the classification sector, and I think this collaboration plan is a good strategic step for PT PAL and BKI in the future,” he said.

Apart from that, during this visit, BKI was also received by the Commander of Koarmada II Surabaya Command. They had the opportunity to visit warships made by PT PAL and discuss maritime matters to establish synergy and cooperation, especially with the Indonesian Navy.

This collaboration between BKI and PT PAL is a strategic step to advance the Indonesian maritime industry. With this synergy, it is hoped that Indonesia can develop independent maritime technology and strengthen its position on the international stage.
