RI Shows Off Port Digitalization at the World Maritime Organization

The World Maritime Organization or International Maritime Organization (IMO) held a virtual 45th Facilitation Committee Meeting (FAL 45) which took place on 1-7 June 2021 and was attended by representatives of IMO member countries and international organizations, including Indonesia.

On this occasion, the Indonesian Delegation under the coordination of the Deputy Secretary for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenkomarves), Dr. Eng. Lukijanto made a presentation led by the Transportation Attaché (Athub) for the Indonesian Embassy in London, Lollan Panjaitan.

The topic of the presentation presented was regarding the Indonesian Maritime Operation System in Ports, especially related to the National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE) and Inaportnet which was explained by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Foreign Sea Transport, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, Yudhonur Setyaji P, also related to the Marine Operating System (MOS). delivered by the Kemenkomarves Expert Team, Adhi Santoso.

Furthermore, to provide a clearer picture of the development of information systems at ports, a video was shown regarding the digitalization of ports in Indonesia.

Athub Lollan conveyed the issues discussed at the 45th FAL Session, including the facilitation of international maritime traffic with the aim of expediting ships entering the port, loading and unloading activities and ships leaving the port, including passenger and cargo activities at the port, as well as related business processes. electronics and digitalization in ports.

He underlined that Indonesia’s involvement in IMO sessions is one way to promote Indonesia, especially in order to support the Government in realizing its vision of making Indonesia the world’s maritime axis.

“Indonesia’s activeness in the IMO Session can also be a consideration for other countries to re-elect Indonesia as a Member of the IMO Council Category C for the 2022-2023 period,” said Lollan.

Meanwhile, in his presentation, Yudho explained that the National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE) is a platform that will collaborate on logistics applications end to end so that the national logistics process can become more efficient. He also explained how the goods distribution flow and Inaportnet flow are supported by an integrated information system.

Yudho further explained that Inaportnet is an internet-based electronic information system service that is integrated with port operational services to serve ship and cargo activities at the port. This Inaportnet service has also been integrated with the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) system, the Ministry of Finance and port business associations.

“Indonesia has been developing the Inaportnet system since 2016, which started in four main ports, then expanded to other ports in Indonesia, until now it has been integrated in 54 ports,” he said.

Furthermore, it was also explained regarding the implementation of the Marine Operating System (MOS), for efficient ship mooring service times as well as the challenges faced and its benefits in supporting the acceleration of logistics digitalization in Indonesia.
